YORK, UK – Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has announced the opening of Elmbank York, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, marking the brand’s debut in the city. This launch follows a franchise agreement with Cairn Hotel Group.
Located in the picturesque Knavesmire Strays area, the 62-room hotel features Leetham’s Brasserie, a restaurant offering seasonal British cuisine, and the opulent Peacock Bar, known for its original fireplaces and jewel-adorned walls. Additionally, the hotel provides convenient onsite parking.

Elmbank York joins over 120 Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotels, each offering a unique personality shaped by elevated design and locally inspired food and beverage, providing guests with authentic experiences in diverse destinations. The brand continues to expand in Europe, targeting high barrier-to-entry markets where boutique properties seek growth.

Elmbank York is housed in a unique 19th-century mansion, once home to the city’s elite and a venue for York’s most lavish parties. The hotel celebrates its Yorkshire roots with thoughtfully designed rooms, artwork, and signature details. Inside Elmbank’s main house is one of the UK’s finest Art Nouveau collections, featuring stunning stained glass, beautiful murals, and detailed stencils, all carefully preserved for guests to enjoy alongside modern comforts and amenities.
