Sheraton Hotels and Resorts has introduced its “Gatherings by Sheraton” program in Greater China, inviting guests to celebrate culture and connection with a remarkable display of Chinese heritage crafts.
Under the theme “Celebrate Life’s Moments at Sheraton,” this collaboration with the China Women’s Development Foundation’s “Genius Mom” project showcases nearly 400 handcrafted artworks inspired by traditional Chinese blessings across 100 Sheraton hotel lobbies.
This initiative marks Sheraton’s ongoing mission to create spaces where guests and locals can forge meaningful connections through immersive cultural experiences.

Sheraton launched “Gatherings by Sheraton” in 2023 in the U.S. to enrich guest stays with cultural stories and community-based events. Now, the program in Greater China continues this vision by transforming hotel lobbies into vibrant exhibitions of local artistry.
The displays feature heritage crafts from four key regions of China:
- Cloth Paste Paintings from Hebei Province, inspired by Manchu patchwork, bring joy with intricate fabric artworks.
- Feng Xiang Dyeing from Guizhou Province, practiced by the Bouyei ethnic group, embodies warm wishes in elegant, timeless patterns.
- Zhuang Embroidery from Guangxi Province, with vibrant depictions of butterflies and lions, celebrates natural beauty and cultural symbols.
- Xilan Kapu from Hubei Province, a Tujia brocade tradition, represents happiness through colorful woven designs.
Sheraton’s collaboration with the “Genius Mom” project supports local craftswomen, allowing their artistry to reach an international audience.
According to Nan Jing, Assistant Secretary-General of the China Women’s Development Foundation, this partnership aligns with Sheraton’s commitment to fostering community connections and provides craftswomen a platform to showcase their cultural heritage.
The “Celebrate Life’s Moments” exhibitions will be on display in Sheraton lobbies throughout Greater China until March 31, 2025. Guests can experience these captivating artworks up close, engaging with the cultural significance behind each piece through interactive on-site activities.
