This autumn, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is teaming up with local art hub Gallery Mondeouvert to present Timeless Art, Passion at Heart, a celebration of Korean art running from August 29 to mid-November 2024.
The hotel will host a series of art-inspired events, including an in-hotel exhibition featuring paintings that capture the essence of Korea’s four seasons. Renowned floral artist Nicolai Bergmann will complement these artworks with stunning floral designs, bringing the seasons to life in the hotel’s lobby.
Gallery Mondeouvert, a contemporary art space that opened in 2020, has carefully selected six artists for this exhibition. Each of the four main artists represents a different season: Hee-kyung Jeon’s abstract brushstrokes evoke the vibrancy of spring with shades of yellow and green; Sang-woon Nam’s layered blue canvases capture the essence of summer’s lotus flowers; Se-hyun Lee’s vast oil paintings in vibrant reds embody autumn landscapes; and Young-wook Choi’s cool white tones depict the historic Joseon-era moon jar as a symbol of winter.

Two additional artists, Hyunjin Yoon and Sangyong Lee, explore other natural themes through three-dimensional art installations, including a dynamic wooden piece inspired by the migration of humpback whales.
Bergmann’s floral creations will be intricately woven into the seasonal artworks, adding a new dimension to the exhibit. His spring display will feature fresh grass and flowers, while summer will be represented by blue petals mimicking lotus leaves. Autumn’s vibrancy will be shown through a rich array of red petals, and winter will be encapsulated by flowers arranged as if placed in a moon jar.
In addition to the exhibition, the hotel will host an exclusive Art Dining event at Boccalino, its Italian restaurant, on September 12, 2024. The event will feature a five-course meal paired with wines themed around the four seasons, alongside an auction of The Four Seasons of Korea paintings. A portion of the auction proceeds will benefit a local organization supporting young artists. Guests attending this dinner will also get a preview of Boccalino’s refreshed menu ahead of its official relaunch on September 16, 2024.
For those eager to delve deeper into the Korean art scene, the hotel is offering exclusive Art Seminars on September 14 and October 3, 2024. These paid events, available only to hotel guests, include a talk on contemporary Korean art and a guided tour of the in-hotel exhibition led by an art professional. Due to limited availability, online booking is required.
This art collaboration coincides with a broader cultural celebration in Seoul, with September 2024 marking the return of Frieze Seoul, an international art fair, and Kiaf Seoul, Korea’s longest-running international art fair. Through this partnership, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul aims to support local artists, celebrate K-art, and provide unique, elevated experiences for both Korean and global guests.
