This season, Château Saint-Martin & Spa, an esteemed Oetker Collection property, proudly presents an exhibit titled “Sentia,” showcasing the work of artist Georgia Tucker. The exhibit, named after the Latin verb meaning “to feel with all senses at once,” was conceived during Tucker’s extended stay at the château in 2023. The English artist drew inspiration from the enchanting beauty of the property, its lush gardens, ancient olive trees, towering cypresses, and the captivating light and vibrant colors of the landscape, dominated by the majestic Baou des Blancs mountain.

Her inspiration stems from meditation, writing, and nature’s healing power, and she believes that art is vital for well-being. Through her creations, Tucker aims to reconnect people with nature and themselves while highlighting the importance of environmental preservation. Her innovative use of augmented reality landscapes challenges traditional art forms, making art more accessible to a broader audience.
Tucker’s diverse body of work spans various media, including painting, sculpture, and printmaking. As a prominent public speaker, she advocates for environmental conservation and the therapeutic benefits of art. “Art has the power to heal trauma, inspire future generations, and educate the public. Immersing ourselves in multi-sensory spaces, reconnecting to the present moment, is an essential tool for the future of communication,” Tucker asserts.
The “Sentia” exhibit offers guests at Château Saint-Martin & Spa an immersive experience with the surrounding landscapes through Tucker’s unique interpretation. Inspired by her personal experiences at the château, the exhibit features a series of works, including paintings, pottery, and stained glass, all centered around the theme of serenity. The Provençal gardens of the hotel served as the initial muse for the exhibit. The artworks reflect the natural beauty of the grounds, incorporating organic forms of fig trees, citrus fruits, olive trees, and lavender.
Among the highlights are two stained glass pieces influenced by those in the Chapelle du Rosaire in Vence, created by the renowned 20th-century artist Henri Matisse, and by Tucker’s own experiences at the property.
