Set to be one of the largest in the country with 50 attractions spread across a sprawling 750-acre resort, the upcoming theme park will feature five distinct themed lands. Three of these lands have already been revealed: Celestial Park, How to Train Your Dragon, and Super Nintendo World. The latest addition to this lineup promises a spooky experience with the unveiling of Dark Universe.
Dark Universe will transport guests into the eerie world of Frankenstein Manor, the central attraction of this land. One of the highlights is Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, a dark ride that takes visitors through the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, where they’ll encounter terrifying monsters born from Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s failed experiments.

Creatures such as The Wolf Man, The Mummy, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and the Brides of Dracula will ensure a spine-chilling experience.
Another thrilling ride in Dark Universe is the Curse of the Werewolf, a spinning family coaster that challenges guests to escape from the clutches of werewolves. For those looking to transform into monsters themselves, the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience offers face paint and temporary tattoos. Meet and greets will feature characters like the Bride of Frankenstein and Ygor, Victoria Frankenstein’s servant.
Dining options in Dark Universe include Das Stakehaus, offering kebabs and burgers, and The Burning Blade Tavern, where guests can enjoy themed dishes like bratwurst and pretzels. Snacks such as cinnamon bread and twisted tators will be available at De Lacey’s Cottage, while Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities shop will sell unique souvenirs.
The park’s website describes the new land: “Nestled within the blackened stone walls of the town, guests will embark on unique adventures where they can get made up to look like their favorite monsters, spin through the woods aboard a thrilling family coaster, enjoy unique dining establishments, enter Frankenstein Manor to brave Universal Orlando’s most chilling ride ever, and more.”
Other themed lands in the Epic Universe theme park include:
Celestial Park
The central hub of the park, Celestial Park, serves as the gateway to the other lands. The main attraction here is the dual-launch roller coaster Starfall Racers, which reaches speeds of up to 62 mph and heights of 133 feet. Other attractions include the Constellation Carousel and the wet-play area Astronomica. Dining options range from the Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant and the Victorian-themed Atlantic to The Oak & Star Tavern and Pizza Moon for snacks. The 500-room Universal Helios Grand Hotel is also located in Celestial Park, providing guests with their own entrance to the theme park.
Super Nintendo World
Mirroring the popular area at Universal Studios Hollywood, Super Nintendo World lets guests immerse themselves in their favorite video games. Entering through the iconic green pipe, visitors can meet characters like Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach. The main ride, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, is an AR racing game located in Bowser’s Castle, where guests can steer along tracks, collect coins, and throw shells. Another ride, Yoshi’s Adventure, takes passengers through the Mushroom Kingdom to collect eggs. Themed dining options include Toadstool Cafe, Yoshi’s Snack Island, and Turbo Boost Treats.
How to Train Your Dragon
In the Isle of Berk-themed land, guests can enjoy four rides catering to different age groups. The family coaster Hiccup’s Wing Gliders lets riders fly through the air with Hiccup and Toothless, while Fyre Drill involves firing water cannons from dragon boats. Other attractions include Dragon Racer’s Rally, Biking Training Camp, and the live show The Untrainable Dragon. Character meet and greets, as well as shops like Mead Hall, Spit Fyre Grill, Grog & Gruel for food, and Viking Traders, Hiccup’s Workshop, and Toothless’ Treasures for souvenirs, enhance the experience.
Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Though details are still under wraps, this land will be based on the Fantastic Beasts series and set in 1920s Paris.
Ticket prices and the official opening date for Epic Universe have yet to be announced. Meanwhile, a new Universal theme park is planned for the UK, and another park designed for families with young children is set to open in Texas .
