Marriott International achieved record-breaking expansion in the Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC) region in 2024, signing 109 deals across 11 markets and adding 21,439 rooms to its development pipeline. This brings its total regional pipeline to 77,532 rooms, reflecting a 12% year-over-year increase.
India, Japan, and Indonesia led the growth, contributing 72% of deal signings. Luxury development remained a key focus, with 19% of signed deals representing over 4,600 rooms across six high-end brands.

Notable upcoming openings include EDITION in Jakarta and Mumbai, The Ritz-Carlton in Jaipur and Udaipur, and a second W Hotels in Singapore.
Conversions played a significant role, comprising 36% of new signings. The company also debuted in the midscale segment with Four Points Flex by Sheraton in Japan, launched through a strategic multi-unit agreement with KKR to convert 14 properties across 10 cities.

Marriott continued its market expansion with new openings in Papua New Guinea, India, Malaysia, and Thailand. Milestone openings included its 600th property in APEC (Adelaide Marriott Hotel), 150th in India (Katra Marriott Resort & Spa), 50th in Malaysia (Penang Marriott Complex), and 100th in Japan (Four Points Flex by Sheraton Osaka Umeda).

Closing 2024 with 635 open properties across 25 brands in 22 countries, Marriott solidifies its position as a leader in APEC’s evolving hospitality landscape.
