Marriott International has introduced “Connect Responsibly with Marriott Bonvoy Events,” a program aimed at integrating sustainability into meetings and events held at participating hotels.
Expected to launch globally by the end of October, this initiative will provide meeting planners with tools to measure the environmental impact of their events through detailed Meeting Impact Reports, which will track factors such as carbon and water footprints.

Additionally, the program will allow customers to purchase carbon credits via a partnership with South Pole, a climate consultancy and carbon asset developer.
Erika Alexander, Chief Global Officer of Global Operations at Marriott, emphasized the importance of in-person connections and highlighted the program’s role in promoting sustainable practices for a more resilient future in travel.
The Meeting Impact Report, available in 11 languages, will provide event-specific sustainability data and will offer users the option to offset their environmental impact by selecting from verified carbon projects.
Tammy Routh, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Marriott, noted that Connect Responsibly is part of Marriott’s larger sustainability push, aligned with the company’s Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The program enhances Marriott’s Climate Action Program (CAP), which sets carbon reduction goals for its properties.
Connect Responsibly builds on Marriott’s broader “Serve 360” Sustainability and Social Impact Platform, which aims to drive positive change in communities and the environment.
