Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group will open a luxury beachfront resort in Mexico’s Riviera Maya in 2028.
Located within the gated Kanai community, the resort will feature 120 rooms and suites with private pools and 50 branded residences offering exclusive beach access.

Designed by Migdal Arquitectos, the resort’s architecture will be inspired by Mayan culture, with interiors by William Gray of Meyer Davis.
Acclaimed artist Bosco Sodi will curate the art, blending Japanese Wabi Sabi and local traditions. Amenities will include multiple pools, a spa, and sustainable dining options.
Laurent Kleitman, CEO of Mandarin Oriental, emphasized the resort’s blend of luxury and local culture.
Partnering with developer GIM Desarrollos, the project will preserve the natural environment while offering curated experiences and access to Riviera Maya’s heritage sites.
