Studio Ashby has reimagined the historic Villa Robert Graves at La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel in Mallorca, with a soulful, art-driven renovation set to launch in April 2025.
Tucked in Deià, a UNESCO World Heritage village, the six-person villa offers guests private luxury just minutes from the main hotel while still enjoying full access to its services and amenities. Named after the British poet who lived in Deià for five decades, the villa honours his legacy through design and atmosphere.

Led by founder Sophie Ashby, the redesign blends local craftsmanship with curated antiques and Spanish artifacts, weaving in artisanal touches like Mallorcan linens and blown-glass lighting.
A highlight is the integration of La Residencia’s iconic art collection, featuring regional talent and selected works chosen in collaboration with art consultant Cecile Sheridan. The villa’s interiors echo Mallorca’s natural beauty through earthy textures, warm tones, and layered, expressive décor.
With three floors, Villa Robert Graves is designed to welcome families or groups of friends. The master suite occupies the first floor, while two additional bedrooms lie on the lower level, offering flexible layouts.
Communal areas include a fully equipped kitchen, bar, lounge, and a dining area highlighted by a poetic mural by local artist Jorge Estevez Valencia. Outside, guests can enjoy sun-drenched terraces, a private pool, and alfresco dining areas framed by panoramic mountain views.
Guests staying at the villa can also take advantage of all the hotel’s offerings—from spa treatments and tennis sessions to guided nature hikes and immersive Mallorcan experiences like sunset boat rides, artist-led workshops, and cycling excursions with Bianchi. The result is a secluded, design-rich retreat that captures the artistic soul and serene charm of Mallorca.
