IHG Hotels & Resorts and Strategic Alliance have announced the upcoming InterContinental Barossa Resort & Spa, set to open in 2028 (pending approval). This will be the first luxury-branded hotel in South Australia’s renowned wine regions.
Nestled in the Barossa’s rolling vineyards, the 150-room resort will offer stunning views, a 130-seat signature restaurant, a lounge bar, an outdoor terrace, and a Club InterContinental. Guests can also enjoy a pool, spa, fitness centre, and extensive event spaces.

IHG’s Australasia & Pacific Managing Director, Matt Tripolone, called the project a “beacon of luxury” for wine lovers and tourists. Strategic Alliance Director David Cook expressed excitement in partnering with the iconic brand to bring the vision to life.
The new resort adds to IHG’s expanding Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, which currently includes 22 open hotels and nine in development across Australasia.
