IHG Hotels & Resorts is bringing its Garner Hotels brand to Scotland for the first time with the signing of Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh.

Scheduled to open in the second half of 2025, the 195-room hotel will occupy a prime location opposite Edinburgh’s Haymarket Station and aims to become a go-to choice for both leisure and business travellers looking for quality stays at an accessible price point.

Part of Palm Holdings, the upcoming hotel reflects IHG’s rapid expansion of its midscale conversion brand, launched in 2023 to strengthen its presence in the essentials segment.

Garner Hotels focus on delivering the comforts guests value most—great sleep, round-the-clock snacks in the lobby café, and a standout breakfast—along with a reliable, welcoming experience.

Edinburgh’s Haymarket area, known for its strong transport links and vibrant West End energy, is an ideal setting for the brand’s Scotland debut.

For business visitors, the property offers easy access to the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, while leisure guests will be well-positioned to enjoy the city’s restaurants, bars, and cultural landmarks.

The hotel will also continue its commitment to social impact. Following years of partnering with the City of Edinburgh Council and the Bethany Trust to provide temporary housing, the property will donate £1 per guest stay for a limited time to Action Against Hunger, supporting IHG’s broader global efforts to fight food insecurity.

Willemijn Geels, IHG’s VP of Development in Europe, sees the project as a shining example of how Garner Hotels can thrive through strategic conversions and partnerships.

Palm Holdings’ CEO, Sheetal Kapoor, and Managing Director, Ricky Kapoor, both echoed their enthusiasm about the transformation of the Haymarket Hub Hotel, highlighting the focus on modern design and long-term value creation.

With 23 Garner Hotels now open globally and 94 more in the pipeline—including 61 across Europe—the Edinburgh launch adds momentum to a brand known for its flexible design standards, attractive conversion costs, and seamless integration into IHG’s powerhouse network.

Garner Hotel Haymarket Edinburgh is set to become a flagship property for the brand, introducing its dynamic and guest-centric approach to the heart of Scotland’s capital.
