IHG Hotels & Resorts is once again partnering with the US Open Tennis Championships, marking its sixth year as the official hotel partner and hotel loyalty program sponsor. This year, IHG brings a playful spin to the event by tapping into a longstanding debate: is a tennis ball green or yellow?
In response, IHG has unveiled the ‘IHG Rally Room,’ a tennis-themed suite inspired by this light-hearted controversy. The suite, available at Kimpton Hotel Eventi in New York City and Hotel Indigo Atlanta Downtown, is split down the middle, with one side decked out in bright green and the other in striking yellow, mirroring the divided opinions of Americans—56% say yellow, while 44% insist it’s green.

The ‘IHG Rally Room’ offers an immersive experience, featuring décor that reflects the tennis ball color debate. The green side includes a plush green rug, a tennis ball-filled lamp, and green-themed accessories, while the yellow side boasts a vivid yellow rug, retro accents, and stylish yellow tennis gear. The suite is available for booking from August 26 through the duration of the US Open, with a maximum two-night stay.
In addition to the themed suite, IHG is hosting the exclusive Grand Slam Social® event at Kimpton Hotel Eventi on August 21. Headlined by DJ and producer Mark Ronson, the event will feature lush greenery, country club-style seating, and a pop-up installation of the ‘IHG Rally Room.’
At the US Open, attendees can relax at the IHG Hotels & Resorts Racquet Bar on the terrace outside Arthur Ashe Stadium, offering specialty cocktails and a curated wine menu. IHG One Rewards members can also bid on exclusive VIP experiences, including behind-the-scenes tours and post-match conferences.
The 2024 US Open Tennis Championships run from August 19 through September 8 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York.
