IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), a global hotel leader, is celebrating significant growth across its luxury and lifestyle brands in Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean (MLAC).
With five new openings in 2024 and 32 properties in the pipeline, IHG is set to more than double its presence in the region.
Leanne Harwood, SVP, Managing Director for Luxury & Lifestyle Americas at IHG, highlighted the demand for the company’s diverse offerings. “Our expansion across MLAC markets shows that our brands are not only in demand but also embraced for their unique experiences,” she said.

This growth includes notable brands such as Six Senses, InterContinental, Kimpton, Vignette Collection, and Hotel Indigo.
Six Senses recently debuted in the region with the April opening of Six Senses La Sagesse in Grenada. Known for wellness and sustainability, Six Senses will continue its regional expansion with Six Senses Grand Bahama and Six Senses Xala by 2026.
InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, the world’s first and largest luxury hotel brand, opened InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Nature Spa in Spring 2023. The brand plans to open InterContinental Presidente Monterrey in Mexico later this year and InterContinental Grenada Resort in 2025.
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has seen robust growth with the opening of Kimpton Grand Roatán Resort & Spa in late 2023. This year, Kimpton launched Kimpton Virgilio in Mexico City and Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa in Todos Santos. Upcoming openings include Kimpton Las Mercedes in Santo Domingo and the all-inclusive Kimpton Tres Ríos Riviera Maya.
Vignette Collection, IHG’s newest brand, will debut in the Americas with El Gran Encomendero in Valladolid, Mexico, in 2025. This 83-room property is situated in a recently designated “Magical Town” destination by Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism.
Hotel Indigo, known for its neighborhood-inspired designs, opened Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman earlier this month. Following this, Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés opened in January, with Hotel Indigo Tijuana expected later this year.
IHG also announced three new signings in Turks & Caicos for InterContinental, Kimpton, and Hotel Indigo, marking the brand’s debut on Grace Bay by 2027.
