IHG Hotels & Resorts to Open First Holiday Inn Express in Hat Yai by 2027

IHG Hotels & Resorts is set to debut its first hotel in Hat Yai, partnering with Park Avenue Property Company Limited to bring the 160-key Holiday Inn Express Hat Yai to the city by 2027.

As the first internationally branded hotel in Hat Yai, it will offer the brand’s signature Express Start Breakfast, a 24/7 Express Café & Bar, a fitness center, and meeting facilities.

Vivek Bhalla, IHG’s Managing Director for South East Asia & Korea, highlighted the expansion as a milestone for IHG in Thailand, bringing the company’s presence to eleven destinations across the country.

He emphasized the continued strength of IHG’s mainstream brands, with Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts making up a significant portion of IHG’s Thailand portfolio.

Prawit Phongprapat, Managing Director of Park Avenue Property, expressed excitement about entering the hospitality sector, noting that Holiday Inn Express’ reputation for quality and comfort makes it the ideal choice for Hat Yai, a city known for its vibrant culture, bustling markets, and strong appeal to Malaysian travelers.

Strategically located just 25 minutes from Hat Yai International Airport and 10 minutes from the city center, the hotel will cater to both business and leisure travelers looking for a smart, efficient, and comfortable stay.

Holiday Inn Express, IHG’s largest and fastest-growing brand, boasts over 3,000 hotels worldwide, including 25 in Southeast Asia & Korea, with an additional 13 properties in the pipeline across Thailand and the Philippines.

Thailand remains a key growth market for IHG, with 39 open hotels and 33 more in development, as the company aims to double its footprint in the country in the coming years.
