IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced an expanded partnership with Google Cloud to introduce an AI-powered travel planning feature in the IHG One Rewards mobile app. Set to launch in the second half of 2024, this generative AI tool aims to simplify trip planning and provide a dynamic digital experience for guests.
Jolie Fleming, Chief Product & Technology Officer at IHG Hotels & Resorts, highlighted the collaboration’s goal to make trip planning more interactive and accessible. The AI-powered travel planner will leverage Google Cloud’s Vertex AI and Gemini models, allowing guests to explore over 6,000 IHG hotels across 19 brands in more than 100 countries. Users can request tailored recommendations, such as late-night dining options near specific hotels or information on local events, making the IHG One Rewards app a comprehensive travel companion.
