IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Vignette Collection, Union Han, Istanbul Karaköy, marking the luxury brand’s debut in Türkiye. Set to open in late 2025, the converted property, owned by Cortex Turizm, will occupy the historic Tütün Han building in Istanbul’s Karaköy district and feature 51 stylish guest rooms, a specialty restaurant, an artisan bakery, and premium wellness facilities.
This addition extends IHG’s footprint in Türkiye to 45 open and signed hotels and marks continued momentum for Vignette Collection, which launched in 2021 and is on track to reach 100 properties globally in a decade.

IHG’s Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development for Europe, said: “The growth of Vignette Collection demonstrates the trust our owners have in IHG’s brands, loyalty programs, and global systems. We’re thrilled to debut this distinctive brand in Türkiye and strengthen our presence in the region.”
Vignette Collection allows hotel owners to retain their property’s unique character while benefiting from IHG’s resources. Union Han, Istanbul Karaköy, will also champion the brand’s community-focused ethos, partnering with local non-profits under the “A Means for Good” initiative.
Cortex Turizm expressed confidence in IHG’s reputation and loyalty programs to attract both domestic and international travelers to Türkiye’s first Vignette Collection property.
This signing follows other key developments for IHG in Türkiye, including the upcoming Garner hotel near Istanbul Airport and InterContinental Ankara, both set to open in 2025. IHG currently operates 32 hotels in Türkiye, with 13 more in development.
