Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced its collaboration with JR Tokai Hotels Co., Ltd. to launch Hotel NEI Nara in downtown Nara.
Marking the first The Unbound Collection by Hyatt property in western Japan, the luxury hotel will overlook Nara Park and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This addition follows The Unbound Collection’s success with Fuji Speedway Hotel in Shizuoka and Hotel Toranomon Hills in Tokyo.

Hotel NEI Nara blends modern luxury with Nara’s rich cultural heritage, offering guests serene views and convenient access to landmarks like Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine. With Nara’s tourism booming—surpassing pre-pandemic levels with over 12 million visitors in 2023—the hotel is strategically located near Kintetsu Nara and JR Nara stations, providing excellent connectivity.
Hyatt executives emphasized Nara’s unique allure as Japan’s ancient capital, renowned for its spiritual and historical significance. “Adding a Hyatt hotel in this location is a unique opportunity,” said Tom Pritzker, Hyatt’s executive chairman. Shunsuke Niwa, president of Central Japan Railway Company, expressed excitement about promoting Nara’s charm to global travelers through this partnership.
