CHICAGO (June 25, 2024) – Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the expansion of its brand presence in New Orleans with the addition of Maison Métier (formerly Maison de la Luz) and The Barnett (formerly Ace Hotel New Orleans). These properties are set to join Hyatt’s Independent Collection and will participate in the World of Hyatt loyalty program this year. Both hotels are owned by The Domain Companies and managed by HRI Hospitality.

Hyatt’s Independent Collection features unique properties that provide distinctive experiences, catering to modern travelers’ desire for one-of-a-kind stays. “Hyatt’s growth continues to be fueled by the leisure and lifestyle segment, and this brand expansion in New Orleans underscores Hyatt’s commitment to growing with intent in destinations that matter most to Hyatt guests and World of Hyatt members,” said Mike Waddell, senior vice president of global franchise operations, Hyatt.

Maison Métier

Maison Métier, expected to join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand, is housed in a historic 1908 building. This luxury guesthouse combines Parisian elegance with contemporary finishes across its 67 lavish guestrooms and suites. The hotel’s salon-style bar, previously Bar Marilou, will maintain its partnership with Paris-based Quixotic Projects, continuing to serve creative cocktails and culinary delights.

The Barnett

The Barnett, anticipated to join the JdV by Hyatt brand, honors its history as Barnett’s Furniture Store by blending Art Deco and French Modernism. Located in the vibrant Warehouse District, The Barnett will offer an authentic New Orleans experience with a live music venue. The hotel will feature updated culinary venues including Italian restaurant Josephine Estelle, rooftop bar Alto, and music venue Three Keys, while Seaworthy restaurant will remain unchanged.
