The Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort held its 2nd annual Four Seasons Orlando Invitational on October 17-18, 2024, in partnership with Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida, raising over half a million dollars for pediatric cancer research.
This marked a significant achievement, doubling last year’s contributions. The sold-out, two-day charity event featured 20 celebrity participants, including former NBA stars Vince Carter and Jason Williams, ex-NFL players Merril Hoge, Ron Jaworski, and Mark May, as well as comedian Larry the Cable Guy.

The event kicked off with a pre-tournament reception that included live music by Steve Moakler, celebrity appearances, and both silent and live auctions. Unique auction items included a golf tour in Scotland, a meet-and-greet with Idina Menzel, and an original Disney artwork by Dom Corona.
During the evening, Nemours Children’s patient Luke Shaver and his family were honored as Luke’s mother, Judith, shared their journey of his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After extensive treatments and 150 days at Nemours, Luke reached remission in January 2024.
Martha McGill, President of Nemours Children’s Health Central Florida, expressed her gratitude, emphasizing the critical need for investment in pediatric cancer care. She highlighted how essential donations like these fuel medical breakthroughs and provide world-class care to children in the region.
The second day featured a friendly golf tournament with celebrities on the resort’s 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed course, culminating in a check presentation to Nemours Children’s, with the funds directly supporting ongoing pediatric cancer research.
Ali Mohammed, Regional VP and General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Orlando, expressed pride in supporting Nemours for a second year, praising the generosity of attendees and the dedication of the Four Seasons team. He noted the resort’s commitment to supporting pediatric cancer research over the past decade.
