Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui is joining forces with Bar Trigona for an exclusive takeover of their poolside venue, CoCoRum. Ranked #36 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list and honored by the World’s 50 Best Bars Academy, Bar Trigona is renowned for its dedication to sustainability, having won Malaysia’s Best Bar for four years running and the prestigious Ketel One Sustainable Award. “For two nights only, on August 16 and 17, 2024, guests can savor the innovative and sustainable cocktails of Bar Trigona in a stunning ocean-view and tropical setting,” says Jasjit Assi, the Resort’s General Manager.
The collaboration brings together Bar Trigona’s Head Bartender, Rohan Matmary, and CoCoRum’s Bar Manager, Thom Geerts, both passionate about sustainable mixology. They will guide guests through four key experiences: Safe Haven, Jewel of the Tropics, Island Rituals, and The Vault. Rohan emphasizes that a great cocktail requires a perfect balance of ingredients and flavors, coupled with a compelling story and a dedicated bartender.

Adding to the allure, a Private Masterclass at The Vault will offer a deep dive into sustainable mixology. On August 16 and 17, 2024, small groups of 3-4 guests can join sessions from 4:00 to 4:45 pm or 5:15 to 6:00 pm, priced at THB 2,200++ per person. Participants will learn to create cocktails using locally sourced, responsibly utilized ingredients, gaining insights from leading mixologists known for their creativity and commitment to sustainability.
This intimate masterclass promises an enriching experience, leaving guests with enhanced cocktail crafting skills and a greater appreciation for sustainable practices.
The event will also feature Rohan’s signature cocktails, tailored for both day and night. Daytime delights include the Blue Pea T&T (Blue Pea tequila, tonic water) and Sakura Spritzer (gin and sakura vanilla syrup). For those preferring earthier flavors, the Petrichor combines vetiver, pandan, gin, and fig tea. Rohan recommends the Airmail, a mix of trigona honey, calamansi juice, prosecco, and dark rum.
As night falls, the cocktail offerings take on a more exotic flair, with mezcal and rum-based creations. The Canchanchara, featuring white rum, lime juice, and trigona honey, provides a zesty kick, while the rose apple and torch ginger rum with strawberry cordial adds a vibrant note. Rohan’s Durian Colada, a blend of white rum, acid-adjusted pineapple juice, coconut cream, and durian paste, promises a unique and unforgettable flavor. “Take a sip and settle down for the story,” Rohan suggests.
