Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown is launching a new holiday initiative called the “Giving Tree,” a community-focused campaign supporting the nonprofit New York Cares. Starting on November 18, 2024, and continuing through Thanksgiving, the hotel’s entrance will feature a beautifully decorated tree that serves as a call to generosity and seasonal goodwill.
The installation, created by Michael Collins, Design Director at the bespoke floral atelier Amaranth, showcases a tree made of natural branches adorned with golden leaves. Visitors will be welcomed by this striking display, along with a basket of gold-dipped leaves symbolizing donations to New York Cares.

Guests can participate by scanning a QR code to make a donation, after which they receive a golden leaf to write their name on. Each donated leaf will be added to the tree, with the goal of transforming it into a radiant symbol of shared giving.
This initiative marks the hotel’s first Giving Tree campaign, aligning with its commitment to giving back during the holidays. The project is designed to unite guests in the spirit of giving while highlighting the vital work of New York Cares, an organization that provides essential services to people across the city.
To extend the spirit of the campaign, the hotel will also offer guests a seasonal treat in their rooms: a golden maple leaf chocolate, symbolizing gratitude and celebration.
Thomas Carreras, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, expresses his enthusiasm for the new program. “We’re thrilled to introduce the Giving Tree initiative this year, reinforcing our dedication to our community.
This is an opportunity to bring our guests together to appreciate the beauty of our hotel while making a meaningful impact in New York City. It’s an honor to support New York Cares, and we’re excited to watch the tree glow as our guests participate in this act of kindness.”
