As Tokyo transitions into early summer, the city bursts into colour with soft hues of seasonal blooms, setting the stage for a new seasonal indulgence at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi.

Beginning May 1, 2025, THE LOUNGE on the 39th floor unveils its limited-time Floral Afternoon Tea, inspired by the serene beauty of hydrangeas and French roses, paired with sweeping views of the Imperial Palace Gardens and the city’s skyline.

Crafted by award-winning pastry chef Michele Abbatemarco of Michelin-starred est, the experience also features a rare collaboration with celebrated pâtissier Yuichi Goto, owner of Equal in Tokyo.

Goto brings a special reinterpretation of the iconic Gâteau Béchamel – a dessert he encountered during his time at Cuisine[s] Michel Troisgros, where he once worked alongside Michele. His refined version, reimagined as a petit gâteau with vanilla and apricot confiture, adds a soft and elegant touch to the tea set.

Michele’s desserts draw from nature’s palette, using seasonal fruits like strawberries and peaches to create sweets that mirror the soft gradients of rain-kissed flowers. One highlight, the Rhubarb, Raspberry & Pistachio Tart, mimics the delicate tones of hydrangeas with layers of pink and green, finished with a nutty, tart complexity.
