Belmond has further solidified its position as a leading luxury travel brand by winning two prestigious awards at The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024.
The brand’s legendary properties, Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, Riviera Maya and Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town, ranked No.18 and No.28 globally, respectively.

Held at the historic Guildhall in London, the event marked the second edition of the awards, celebrating the best hotels worldwide. Maroma was also honored with the Flor de Caña Eco Hotel of 2024, while Mount Nelson was named Best Hotel in Africa.
Maroma, set among 200 acres of lush jungle along Mexico’s Caribbean coast, reopened in 2023 after a careful reimagining, incorporating Mayan traditions and sustainable initiatives such as its spa by Guerlain and a partnership with Parley for the Oceans.
Mount Nelson, nestled at the foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town, continues to blend heritage with modernity, offering guests immersive cultural and dining experiences within its 8-acre gardens.
