Auchrannie Resort Offers Free Stays Amid Isle of Arran Ferry Disruptions

Auchrannie Resort on the Isle of Arran is offering free accommodation to guests impacted by ongoing ferry disruptions.

The resort, which includes a four-star hotel, spa, and restaurant in Brodick, has introduced this policy to address visitor concerns about ferry cancellations and delays.

The resort’s management acknowledges that businesses on Arran are grappling with significant financial challenges due to decreased visitor confidence in the ferry service, leading to reduced forward bookings.

To counteract these issues, Auchrannie Resort’s new policy provides financial reassurance to guests traveling from Troon, Ardrossan, and Claonaig.

Key aspects of the program include free accommodation, no-fee cancellations, and the return of deposits for guests experiencing travel disruptions. Additionally, guests can enjoy complimentary late check-outs if ferry services are delayed.

Gordon Hay, Auchrannie’s business development manager, emphasized the resort’s proactive approach: “Recognizing the worries our potential visitors have about ferries, we’ve shifted from merely acknowledging these problems to actively enhancing our guests’ experience.

Our ‘Book with Confidence’ policy is about turning challenges into opportunities for reassurance and support. We want our guests to feel secure when booking a stay at Auchrannie, confident in the knowledge that we will look after them, no matter the circumstances.”

Co-founder and executive chairperson Linda Johnston added, “Each year, over 750,000 journeys are made to and from the Isle of Arran by ferry, with the vast majority encountering no issues. However, occasional weather and technical problems can disrupt travel plans.

Understanding the potential worry this causes, Auchrannie Resort has taken these proactive and robust measures to ensure that any undue stress and concern by their guests is minimized.”

Auchrannie Resort’s initiative aims to restore visitor confidence and support the local economy by encouraging tourists to book their stay without fear of disruption.
