Accor and Propreal Capital Partners have signed an agreement to open Sofitel Porto, a 132-room luxury hotel set to debut in 2028.
This marks their second collaboration after Sofitel Barcelona Skipper and will be Accor’s first luxury hotel in Porto and its flagship Sofitel in the Iberian Peninsula.
Strategically located between Avenida dos Aliados and Rua de Santa Catarina, Sofitel Porto will merge French elegance with Portuguese heritage.

The hotel will feature expansive public areas, green spaces, multiple dining concepts—including potential partnerships with top Portuguese chefs—and a design by Lázaro Rosa-Violán that blends restored historic elements with refined modernity.
The property will retain its protected façade while offering a sophisticated interior inspired by local craftsmanship. Positioned in Porto’s city center, the hotel aims to become a cultural and social hub for both international guests and the local community.
Accor sees the development as a strategic move to strengthen its luxury footprint in Portugal, complementing its existing presence in Lisbon and future plans for Comporta, the Douro Valley, and the Algarve.
