The past year saw Six Senses Kyoto launch as a luxury urban retreat, Vignette Collection debut with RIGHA Royal Hotel Osaka and The Windsor Hotel TOYA Resort & Spa, and Garner enter Japan’s midscale market with three Osaka hotels.

“Japan is a priority market for us,” said Abhijay Sandilya, CEO, IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan. “With international brands representing just 5% of hotels here, we see great potential for conversions and new builds.”

Looking ahead to 2025, IHG will reintroduce Holiday Inn to Tokyo and Kyoto, open InterContinental Sapporo, and expand ANA Crowne Plaza to Okinawa—further strengthening its diverse brand portfolio in Japan’s growing travel market.
