The Lanai properties demonstrated innovative approaches to sustainability, such as eliminating single-use bath amenities, incorporating bamboo spa products, and using AI-powered Winnow technology to reduce food waste. General Manager Avi Phookan highlighted how online staff training and data tracking help develop solutions to minimize waste and enhance efficiency.

The resorts also participate in the Four Seasons For Good program, which consolidates global efforts to address social and environmental challenges, and have implemented additional initiatives like providing reef-safe sunscreen, practicing organic landscaping, and earning Gold Certification from the Maui Nui Marine Resource Council.

Community engagement through the Love Lanai Culture Team includes beach cleanups, cultural programs, and collaborations with organizations like the Kānehūnāmoku Voyaging Academy and Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology, allowing guests to learn about reef health and wayfinding traditions.
