IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a management agreement to develop a Holiday Inn Express in Ayodhya, India. Scheduled to open by mid-2028, the 125-room property reflects IHG’s focus on expanding in high-growth markets, including spiritual destinations that attract large volumes of travelers.
Strategic Location in a Growing Destination
Holiday Inn Express Ayodhya will be strategically located near the city’s airport, the main temple complex, and the railway station, offering convenience for spiritual, leisure, and business travelers. The hotel will feature well-appointed rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a fitness center, a business center, a spacious meeting room, and ample parking.

Ayodhya, India’s most visited tourist destination in 2024, welcomed over 110 million visitors in the first half of the year. The new hotel aims to cater to the growing demand for quality accommodations driven by the city’s spiritual significance and rising popularity.
