IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the signing of four new properties under its rapidly growing Garner brand, expanding its presence across the UK and Europe.
Launched in August 2023, Garner focuses on the midscale conversion market, offering flexibility for hotel owners and providing guests with a high-quality, straightforward experience at competitive prices. The brand has seen remarkable growth, with 76 properties signed in the first half of 2024, 58 of which are in Europe.
Willemijn Geels, Vice President of Development for Europe at IHG, expressed excitement about the rapid expansion, noting that Garner’s appeal lies in its ability to deliver strong returns for owners by quickly transitioning properties to operational status.

Garner’s integration into IHG’s enterprise platform offers access to powerful revenue-generating systems, digital capabilities, and the IHG One Rewards loyalty program.
In the UK, Garner Hotel Reading Centre will open in late 2024 following refurbishment, offering 53 rooms in the heart of Reading. Additionally, Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury, set to open later in 2024, will feature 80 rooms near the M6 motorway, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
Garner’s expansion in Northern Europe is highlighted by a major partnership with NOVUM Hospitality in Germany, bringing over 50 hotels to the brand, including locations in Hamburg, Mannheim, and Berlin. This agreement also extends to Austria and the Netherlands, with properties in Vienna and Maastricht set to open soon.
Garner’s Southern Europe debut will take place in Türkiye with a 126-room hotel in Istanbul, slated for 2025, located near Istanbul Airport, a key travel hub.
The brand’s rapid expansion reflects growing demand for no-fuss, comfortable accommodations in key locations, ensuring a seamless guest experience with convenient amenities like 24/7 refreshments.
Since its launch, Garner has signed 79 properties globally, with four already open across markets such as the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and Türkiye.
