Drawing inspiration from Calistoga’s rich wellness heritage, Spa Talisa at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley offers an unparalleled spa experience that seamlessly blends ancient healing traditions with modern luxury in the heart of wine country.
Nestled where vine-covered hills meet the majestic Mayacamas Mountains, this sanctuary invites guests to indulge in signature treatments that harness Mother Nature for profound rejuvenation.
Spa Talisa, meaning “beautiful water” in Native American languages, pays homage to Calistoga’s wellness legacy, which traces back to the indigenous Wappo tribe.

Carene Coulter, Assistant Spa Director at Four Seasons Resort Napa Valley, explains, “We offer a journey through time and tradition, honouring our volcanic ash’s ancient therapeutic properties in a modern, luxurious setting.”
Signature Treatments
The Bountiful Earth Wrap – This transformative journey begins with a full-body cocoon of warm marine algae, thermal mud, and purifying salts. “We’ve carefully sourced these elements to mimic the mineral-rich composition of Calistoga’s famous geothermal waters,” Coulter notes. The experience concludes with an application of a bespoke body elixir, leaving the skin deeply hydrated and radiant.
The Calistoga Mud Bay Experience – This treatment offers a modern twist on Calistoga’s iconic mud baths. Guests apply an exclusive rose mud blend to their skin in a private outdoor mud and sun bay. “Guests bask in the California sunshine, allowing the potent blend of earth and light to draw toxins from the body and stimulate circulation,” Coulter explains.
One recent guest described the experience as “soaking in vineyard views while the sun is drawing toxins out of your body is simply magical, before you are reborn in a skin that feels brand new. It’s incredible.”
Beyond these signature treatments, Spa Talisa offers a holistic wellness experience. Guests can unwind in the classic steam room, relax on outdoor misting decks, or take in breathtaking vineyard views while soaking in the Spa Garden whirlpool.
“At Spa Talisa, we’ve created more than just a spa – we’ve crafted an experience that speaks to all the senses,” says Coulter. “From the moment our guests step in, they’re transported to a world where time slows down, and rejuvenation takes centre stage.”
Spa Talisa is open to Resort guests and locals alike. For more information or to book a treatment, visit the Resort’s website or call +1 707 327 2935.
