IHG Hotels & Resorts marks its 60th anniversary in Japan, celebrating decades of growth since introducing its InterContinental brand in 1964. Key partnerships, including a 2006 joint venture with ANA, have driven IHG’s success, now with 47 hotels and 15 more in development.
CEO Abhijay Sandilya emphasized plans to double IHG’s presence in Japan as travel rebounds, with new brands like Garner, Vignette Collection, and Regent set to launch.

Sandilya highlighted the company’s focus on combining local expertise with global scale to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Looking ahead, IHG is committed to expanding into off-the-beaten-path destinations, ensuring continued growth and success in the Japanese market.
