Ibis, the well-known economy hotel brand, has released a global report on future travel trends, focusing on Millennials and Gen Z.

Conducted with travel forecasting firm Globetrender, the survey of 9,000 respondents from key markets, including the UK, US, Brazil, and China, reveals that younger generations are prioritizing experiences over possessions, with 58% of travelers valuing experiences more highly.

The report, launched with Ibis’s “Go get it” campaign, highlights the increasing influence of social media, with TikTok and Instagram driving destination choices for 17% and 27% of travelers, respectively.

Key trends include city hopping, travel for concerts and festivals, and food tourism—92% of Millennials place importance on local culinary experiences. Flexible work also allows 12% of travelers to combine work with vacation.

Jean-Yves Minet of Accor emphasized Ibis’s commitment to offering affordable, comfortable stays, enabling travelers to fully engage with their destinations.

As travel becomes more experience-driven, Ibis aims to inspire younger generations with practical and quality service, while adapting to their evolving preferences.
